Bartlett Mountain is closed to climbers
Bartlett Mountain sits entirely on the private property of the Climax Mine, an active molybdenum mine. It is off-limits, and trespassing can bring heavy fines. We don't describe a route.
Bartlett Mountain rises above Fremont Pass and the Climax Mine. Decades of mining have lowered its summit by more than 150 feet, and newer survey work puts it at about 13,348 feet. It still rises more than 300 feet above its saddle with Clinton Peak, so it keeps its place on the ranked list.
The whole mountain lies inside the Climax Mine's property, and the mine is operating. Older trip reports online mostly date from when the mine was closed between 1987 and 2012 and don't reflect today. The summit block is also known to be crumbling.
If you want a nearby 13er, Clinton, McNamee and Traver Peaks above Wheeler Lake, or Mount Arkansas south of Fremont Pass, are all on public land.
